Earlier this year, the Emerging Leaders steering committee traveled to New York City to meet with Frances Hesselbein, Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Leader to Leader Institute in New York City. As the group sat around the table and listened, Frances recalled a fond story told to her by her grandmother about a gentleman named, "Mr. Yi." Through this moving story, Frances and Mr. Yi teach that compassion and kindness are leadership qualities and leave an impression on other people's lives.
Frances then posed the question to our group of Emerging Leaders, "What is the defining moment of your life? What made you the leader you are today?"
